A first-team All-American as a senior in 1983, Pam Reinoehl set a number of school career records that stood for more than 10 years, including runs, hits, home runs, batting average and stolen bases. As a freshman in 1980, Reinoehl’s 49 runs scored equaled the season total for all of Cal’s opponents that season. The four-year starter at second base ended her tenure with the Bears with a .340 average after batting .371 as a senior. She was also voted to the all-region team her junior year and first-team all-conference four times. Reinoehl completed her career with 19 home runs during an era when homers were quite rare in softball. Her teams finished fifth at the AIAW College World Series three times (precursor to the NCAA). After graduating with a degree in sociology, Reinoehl played for the U.S. National team from 1983-86.
