The only All-American in Cal history at the time of graduation; Monnet played for the Bears from 1980-83 … she was selected a first team All-American in 1981 and was chosen to the honorable mention squad in 1982 and to the second team in 1983 … a two-time Academic All-American (1982-83), Monnet was voted to the All-NorCal Conference team in 1980 and 1981 and to the All-NorPac Conference team in 1982 and 1983 … in 1983, she was also chosen the NorPac Player of the Year … in the Cal record book, Monnet held the school marks for service aces (62) and blocks (216) in a season … her .293 hitting percentage in 1983 is also one of the best in school history … unfortunately, statistics were not kept before the 1983 season, so she does not appear among the career leaders, even though she certainly belongs among them.
