California Athletics Hall of Fame
Tommy Angell excelled as a student-athlete as he competed in 10 sports and was an All-Cal selection in six. Following graduation, Angell competed nationally and internationally in both fencing and field hockey. In fencing, she represented the United States at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the 1963 and ’71 Pan American Games as well as the 1953 and ’71 World Championships. She was a Pacific Coast Champion in 1964 and ’65. In addition, Angell achieved honors in field hockey. She was a member of the 1965 US touring team and a member of the Pacific Southwest selection team from 1953 to 1970. Following her competitive days, she served as a national official in both sports.
