Played left field on Cal’s baseball team from 1946-48, enjoying one of the finest seasons in school history in ’47 … as a junior earned both All-America and All-District 8 accolades after batting .362 and leading the Golden Bears to the NCAA championship at the first-ever College World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
