A two-year letterman at halfback, nicknamed “Tut,” Imlay played for the great Cal coach Andy Smith … named by Walter Camp as a third-team All-American in 1924 … his running and pass-catching abilities helped the '24 team post an 8-0-2 record and finish ranked second in the nation … selected to the second team on Cal football historian Brick Morse's All-Time Cal football team … was chosen team captain of the 1925 team … had an excellent season in '25, capped by his participation in the first East-West Shrine game … scored the first touchdown ever in that historic all-star game … played in the NFL for the New York Giants.
