Cal’s all-time leading tackler, finishing his career with 525 stops… started four consecutive seasons for Cal, moving into starting line-up in fourth game of his redshirt-freshman season in 1986 and staying there through 1989… was second team All-Pac-10 selection as sophomore in 1987 after registering team-leasding142 tackles and posting team-high 6 interceptions—the most ever by a Cal linebacker in single season… also was second team Pac-10 selection as junior in 1988 with 132 tackles… was first team Pac-10 selection as senior in ’89 after making 159 tackles, an average of 14.5 stops a game … had career-high 22 tackles (15 unassisted) vs. Wisconsin and 20 tackles (6 unassisted) vs. Stanford in 1989… was named team’s Most Inspirational Player as senior… played in East-West Shrine Game in ’90 and signed free agent pro contract with L.A. Rams.
