Hal Davis was twice the AAU/TAC national champion in the 100 and 200 (1942 and '43). He set a world record in the 100 meters in 1941 (10.2) and in the 100 yards in 1942 (9.4) … his 100-yard time stood as the school record for 14 years … the PCC champion in 1942 in the 100 and 220 yards … twice NCAA champion in the 100 and 220 and established Cal records for most points scored in one NCAA meet (20), most points in a career (40), most first-place finishes in one meet (2), most first place finishes in a career (4) and most two-time winners in one meet (2).
