Captured an individual NCAA title in the pommel horse in 1959, becoming only the second Cal gymnast to capture an NCAA title also placed 2^nd in still rings and 3^rd in horizontal bar and all around that year … was an All-American in 1959 and 1960 … his top events were the still rings, horizontal bar, pommel horse and all-around.
