Bennett competed in women’s basketball from 1984-87 and ranks as one of Cal’s all-time leading scorers with 1,766 points … selected honorable mention All-American and first-team All-Pac-10 as a senior in 1987, Bennett was voted first-team All-NorPac Conference in 1986 and second team in 1985 … set a Cal record for points scored in a season with 736 during the 1986-87 campaign, when she also set the record for scoring average (23.7 ppg), and free throws made (176) in a season … she held eight of the top nine single-game scoring efforts in Cal history at the time of her graduation … these high scoring games including a 45-point game vs. Arizona in 1987 and a 44-point outing against Washington in ’87 … led the ’86-’87 team in scoring average, rebounding average, blocked shots and steals … set the Cal record for free throws made in a career (502) … at the time of graduation, ranked high on several Cal career lists, including 5th in games played list (118), 2nd in points (1766), 6th in blocks (75) and 3rd in field goal percentage (52.5%).
