Arguably the greatest deep threat receiver in Cal football history … held the NCAA record for highest average gain per reception in a career (minimum 75 catches) with a 24.7 yards per catch average … finished his career with 86 catches for 2,206 yards and 23 touchdowns … at the end of his career held the Pac-10 record for most receiving yards in a single game when he accounted for 289 yards vs. San Jose State in 1976 on eight receptions … after being drafted in the second round, went on to an illustrious 13-year pro career with the New York Jets, earning All-Pro status several times …  Cal's first four-year double-sport letterman since pre-World War II as he lettered four times in track and field … earned All-America honors three times in track, helping the Bears' 440-relay team to second place and Cal’s mile relay to fifth place at the 1975 NCAA Championships and the Bears’ mile relay to third place at the 1976 NCAA  meet.
