One of the finest placekickers in Cal history … finished his career as one of the few kickers in NCAA history to reach the 50 field goal mark … hit 50 of 80 field goals in his career … upon his graduation, was the most accurate kicker in the history of the NCAA inside 40 yards, hitting 30 of 34 field goals from that distance during his career … finished his career as the Pac-8 leader in career kick scoring and field goals … earned first-team All-Pac-8 honors in 1976 and '77 … led Pac-10 in scoring in 1977 with 82 points … drafted by Detroit Lions in 8th round and spent time briefly with Oakland Raiders before establishing himself as one of the premier placekickers for 14 years with the Cincinnati Bengals … held NFL record for scoring in 186 consecutive games.
