Stark Jordan made the Olympic team at the age of fourteen … she finished in fifth place in the 100m backstroke at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics … she held the American backstroke records from 1952 until 1956 in the 100 and 200 yards and in the 100 and 200 meters … Jordan was National Indoor and Outdoor backstroke champion (1952-55) and was on the American swimming team (1952-55 and ’57) … She was the Masters Swimming National Champion in 1971 and 1974-75 in the 100m and 200m backstroke … Jordan won a total of nine national championships … she was also Cal’s swimming coach (1976-77).
