BERKELEY - After a two-week layoff from competition, California (5-2, 2-0) displayed an offensive showcase in its 5-0 rout of Pacific (3-5, 2-1) Saturday afternoon at Kleeberger Field.
Forward Lisa D'Anjou recorded her second two-goal game of the season and Nora Feddersen notched her first two goals of the year in the Bears' second conference win of the season.
Feddersen started off the scoring at 23:34 of the first half on a penalty corner. D'Anjou followed as she put home a rebound from a penalty corner with 5:42 left in the period.
In the second half, sophomore Pooja Mehta joined the scoring party as she scored her first goal of the year with 24:54 left in the game. Elizabeth Harkins gave Mehta a lead pass into an open goal after the Tigers goalkeeper Lisa Beach was put out of position on a previous shot.
At 9:32 of the second, Feddersen wristed a shot into the top left-hand corner of the goal on a penalty corner to put the Bears up 4-0.
With the game out of reach, freshman Maggie Grimes fed D'Anjou for the junior's fourth goal of 2001. D'Anjou led all players with six shots on goal.
The Bears out shot UOP, 11-1 in the first half and 20-5 for the game. Cal keeper Emily Rowlen made four saves on the day while Beach tallied 10 saves for the Tigers.
The two teams complete a home-and-home series next week as UOP hosts Cal Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.
