Bears Record Fourth Shutout In Decisive Road Win

STOCKTON – California men's soccer earned a decisive victory at Pacific on Friday night at Knoles Field. The Golden Bears scored a season-high three goals in a 3-0 shutout victory over the Tigers.

Cal got off to a quick start, with Noe Morales scoring on the first shot of the match in the third minute off a free kick. The goal was Morales' second of the season. The battle quickly became defensive after the Bears' opening goal, with just three more shots from both teams recorded during the remainder of the first half.

The Bears carried the momentum into the second half, taking five shots to the Tigers' zero before Lucca Guimaraes found the back of the net in the 64th minute for his second goal of the season. Morales was credited with the assist, his second of the season.

Cal did not let off the gas, with Callen Lewis burying his third goal of the season in the 87th minute to secure a 3-0 victory over Pacific. The shutout marks the fourth of the season for goalkeeper Adam Salama and the Bears.

Cal will return to action at Notre Dame on Saturday, Oct. 3, with the match set to air on ACCNX.
