Spring 2017: Heap was 2-5 in singles and 1-2 in doubles during dual matches…finished 3-6 in singles and 2-3 in doubles for the season…Heap paired with Florian Lakat to defeat UCLA’s Gage Brymer and Maxime Cressey, 6-4, to clinch the point in Cal’s 4-3 win over the Bruins in the ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship consolation round on Feb. 19…his first dual-match singles win was a 6-1, 6-2 victory over TCU’s Gianni Mancini on court six on March 10 in Berkeley…on March 22 at Cal, Heap beat Dennis Wang, 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-5, on court six in Cal’s 4-3 win over Yale.

Fall 2016: Posted a 1-1 singles record in the fall.

Personal: Undeclared major… Heap spent all four years in high school undefeated in tennis… overall records as a player include a 54-1 singles record and 53-2 doubles record (including club play)… played on the New Zealand national tennis first team, where he was named the MVP of the national championship…also played basketball and soccer in high school, where he lead his league in scoring (27.2 ppg)… mother and father Michelle and Steve Heap are both veterinarians… has two younger brothers, Dylan (15) and Isaac (12)…post-graduate goals are to play in all four grand slams and the Davis Cup.
