Cal Battles To Scoreless Draw With Cal Poly

Bears Remain Unbeaten At Home
BERKELEY, Calif. – The California women's soccer team battled Cal Poly to a scoreless draw Thursday evening at Edwards Stadium, as neither side was able to break through in the defensive matchup.
In the 17th minute, Emelia Warta stepped up for a penalty kick, but her attempt was saved by Cal Poly goalkeeper Jessie Porubski. Just a minute later, Alyssa Savig came up with a big save of her own to keep the Mustangs off the board. Despite additional first-half chances from Soleil Dimry, Reese Doherty, Amaya Faison and Liya Nartey, the Bears and Mustangs went into halftime scoreless.
Cal finished the Thursday afternoon matchup with 16 total shots, including three on goal, but neither side was able to find the back of the net as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Bears continue their homestand Sunday when they face Columbia at 1 p.m., followed by the Cal men's soccer team taking on North Carolina at 4 p.m. Fans can join the Bears at Edwards Stadium for the doubleheader or watch the women's match live on ESPN+.
