Bears Honor Nine Seniors During Senior Day Ceremony
BERKELEY, Calif. – The California women's soccer team fell to NC State, 2-1, in a Sunday afternoon matchup at Edwards Stadium. Prior to the match, the Golden Bears honored their nine seniors and graduate students—Alyssa Savig, Reese Doherty, Malia McMahon, Soleil Dimry, Isabella Banuelos, Lizzie Vranesh, Alexys Ocampo, Miriam Hils and Emelia Warta—during a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
The Golden Bears played a defensively strong first half, but NC State opened the scoring in the 42nd minute. The Bears and Wolfpack entered halftime with NC State holding a 1-0 lead.
Soleil Dimry evened the match with a penalty kick in the 50th minute. NC State answered with a goal in the 55th minute to take a 2-1 lead. The Bears fought back with several shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net again.
The match concluded Cal women's soccer's home schedule. The Golden Bears will wrap up the regular season on Thursday, Nov. 5, when they take on Syracuse at 4 p.m. PT. The match will air on ACCNX.
