Former Cal Standouts Selected For U.S. And Canada Camps
Four former California women's soccer standouts have earned national team call-ups for the October international window, with Teagan Wy, Angelina Anderson and Karlie Lema selected by U.S. Soccer and Sydney Collins called up to represent Canada.
Former Golden Bears Wy (Gotham FC) and Anderson (Angel City FC) were selected as goalkeepers for the U-23 U.S. Women's National Team domestic camp. Lema (Bay FC) was selected as a forward. The Cal graduates were invited to join the U.S. U-23 WNT roster, led by head coach Heather Dyche. The camp will run Oct. 5-13 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Collins, also of Bay FC, was called up to the Canadian Women's National Team for the October FIFA international window. Led by head coach Casey Stoney, the senior national team will compete Oct. 5-13. The former Golden Bear continues her time with Canada after returning to the roster in 2025.
WY CALLED UP
Wy has been involved with U.S. Soccer for the past eight years, beginning at the U-14 level. Her national team experience includes representing the United States at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, in which she competed during her junior season at Cal.
"I am so grateful for opportunities like these," Wy said. "It is always an honor to represent my country, inspire future generations and grow as a player and a person. I'm excited to work with this group of girls and push each other to become better every day."
A two-time all-conference selection, Wy made 53 appearances during her four seasons in Berkeley. She earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2024 and earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times during her senior season in 2025.
Following her collegiate career, Wy signed her first professional contract with Gotham FC in January 2026, joining the club through 2028.
ANDERSON CALLED UP
Anderson also has been heavily involved with U.S. Soccer. She has an extensive history with the U.S. Youth National Teams, serving as the starting goalkeeper and captain for the U-17 team at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay. She also competed with the U-20 national team in 2018.
"I'm thrilled to be heading to Atlanta for camp," Anderson said. "It is always a privilege and an honor to wear the crest and represent the U.S. There's a great group of girls coming in, and I'm excited to learn and grow."
Anderson was selected by Angel City FC with the 27th overall pick of the 2023 NWSL Draft and has continued her professional career with the club.
Anderson had a decorated four-year career with Cal. As a freshman, she was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, while also earning second-team All-America honors. Anderson went on to serve as a team captain for three consecutive seasons.
LEMA CALL UP
Lema has been involved with U.S. Soccer since the youth level, earning call-ups to the U.S. U-17 National Team camps in 2019 and 2020. She also competed with the team at the 2019 UEFA Development Tournament after previously being called into the U.S. U-15 National Team.
"I'm so excited to get the call-up for U-23 camp," Lema said. "It's always such an honor to represent our country and even more special that two of my Cal teammates will be there."
During her time at Cal, Lema was a standout, earning ACC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-ACC honors during her senior season in 2025. She finished her time at Cal with 31 career goals.
Following her collegiate career, Lema signed her first professional contract with Bay FC ahead of the 2025 season. In just her second professional season, Lema recently made her 50th career appearance for Bay FC.
SYDNEY COLLINS EARNS CANADA CALL-UP
Former Golden Bear Sydney Collins also was called up to represent the Full Canadian National Team during the October 2026 international window.
Collins began representing Canada at the senior international level in 2023, earning six caps and helping Les Rouges qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was later named to Canada's Olympic roster. Collins returned to the Canadian National Team in October 2025 and recorded her first senior international goal later that year.
"It is a huge honor to represent Team Canada," Collins said. "Playing on home soil in Toronto and Montreal makes these upcoming matches even more special, and I'm excited to share those moments with my family."
During her time at Cal, Collins appeared in 85 matches and served as team captain for three seasons. She also earned All-Pac-12 honors twice during her collegiate career.
Following her collegiate career, Collins was selected eighth overall by the North Carolina Courage in the 2023 NWSL Draft before joining Bay FC in August 2025, making her return to the Bay Area.
BEARS ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
The four former Golden Bears continue to represent Cal at the highest levels of the sport, with each earning opportunities across the U.S. and Canadian national team programs. Wy, Anderson, Lema and Collins each helped shape the Cal women's soccer program during their collegiate careers and now continue to carry that legacy onto the professional and international stage.
