Prior to Cal: A graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in education at Cal, Dean joined the Golden Bears after competing as an undergraduate at Yale, where he was named the ITA Senior Player of the Year for the New England Region in 2024…Dean was named to the All-Ivy League First Team in singles three times as a Bulldog and with doubles partner Aidan Reilly was chosen to the All-Ivy First Team in doubles in 2024…Dean claimed a final ITA singles ranking of 92nd, while Dean and Reilly earned a final ITA doubles ranking of 40th, in 2024…the San Francisco Bay Area native was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2022, when he and Reilly were selected to the All-Ivy Second Team in doubles…a two-time Academic All-Ivy honoree, Dean was also named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023.
 
Prior To Yale: Ranked No. 1 in Northern California and No. 41 in the nation in the 18-and-under division by the USTA…Ranked No. 28 in the nation and No. 5 in California in the Class of 2020 by tennisrecruiting.net…Had a 62-6 overall record and a 56-3 league mark at Granada High School…Three-time EBAL all-league selection…EBAL singles and doubles champion…Reached semifinals in singles in and finals in doubles at sectionals…two-time team captain…Livermore-Granada Boosters Olympian Scholarship Finalist… 2018 USTA Northern California Daniel Scafidi Sportsmanship Award winner.
