College Sports Communicators (CSC) Third-Team Academic All-American... CSC Academic All-District... MPSF All-Academic... ACC Academic Honor Roll.

As a Junior (2024): All-MPSF (Floor)… finished the year ranked 17th in the nation on floor… reached the NCAA Finals in the all-around after posting a 78.965 in the qualifier, his first all-around appearance of the season… scored 14.100 on floor in the last home meet of the season… earned a season-high 14.200 on floor at Oklahoma… CGA First-Team Academic All-American... CSC Academic All-American... CSC Academic All-District... Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll… MPSF All-Academic.

As a Sophomore (2023): All-MPSF (All-Around)... competed at the U.S. Championships... was Cal's top all-around scorer at the NCAA Finals with his personal-best total of 79.398, where he also set career highs on rings (13.400) and vault (13.766)... set personal bests on floor (13.966) and parallel bars (13.433) at the NCAA Qualifier... posted a career high of 12.750 on horizontal bar at the Bears' regular season finale... CGA First Team All-America Scholar Athlete, MPSF All-Academic and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll member.

As a Freshman (2022): Competed in nine meets… reached the NCAA Finals on pommel horse, posting a score of 12.966 on Day Two after scoring a career-best 13.500 in the qualifying round of the NCAA Championships… also reached career highs on floor (13.850) and rings (13.200), the latter of which was achieved in the NCAA Qualifying Round... CGA Second Team All-America Scholar Athlete.

CLUB: Competed for the West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy while attending Newark Memorial High School...accolades include being a 2019 U.S Gymnastics Championships qualifier, a 2020 Junior Men's Winter Cup qualifier and a 2020 Elite Team Cup member.

PERSONAL: Majoring in electrical engineering & computer science (EECS)... son of Hisako Akagi and Shigehito Shimizu... brother Sean also competes on Cal's gymnastics team.
