Ryan Cobb

Ryan Cobb, MS ATC

A 20-year veteran in sports medicine and intercollegiate athletics, Ryan Cobb coordinates health and medical services for Cal’s student-athletes, as well as helping to foster collaboration and integration between Athletics and many other campus departments and services in the areas of student welfare, health and campus life.

Serving as Cal’s Head Athletic Trainer since 2003, he oversees areas related to sports medicine, strength & conditioning, nutrition services, risk management and other campus unit partnerships, including coordinating all medical services in conjunction with the University Health Service (UHS) and UHS Head Team Physician and UHS Medical Director. Cobb serves as the liaison from Intercollegiate Athletics to the Dean of Student’s Office, the Center for Student Conduct and Residential Life, among others, and he is also is the sports administrator for several varsity teams. Cobb has a master’s degree in exercise science and completed his undergraduate work at Vanderbilt University.

Cobb and his wife, Jennifer, a Cal alumna, live in Danville.
