Josh Hummel has worked on multiple sides of the Athletics Department in two separate stints at Cal. In his current role he holds oversight over all Athletics facilities, project construction, and home events. He provides strategic direction to the Department's large initiatives, and is constantly adapting his unit to support the changing landscape of College Athletics. He also serves as a primary sports administrator for several of Cal's varsity programs.
In his first stint at Cal, Hummel ran the business and finance office for five years before leaving to be the CFO and Facility/Event Director at San Jose State. Very early in his professional career, Josh was the play-by-play radio broadcaster for two Minor League baseball teams.
A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, Super Bowl LII will forever top his list of sports moments.
Hummel graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree.
He currently lives in Alamo with his wife Kristin, sons Zachary and Cody, and daughter Kenzie.
