Barry Parsons MEd ATC

Barry Parsons has served as an Associate Athletic Trainer overseeing the sports medicine needs of the California men’s basketball program for the past 20 seasons, most recently helping lead the Golden Bears through their inaugural season as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2024-25.

Parsons also previously worked with the nationally-ranked Cal men’s rowing program, which won back-to-back IRA National Championships in 2022 and 2023. He came to Berkeley in the fall of 2004 after five years as an assistant athletic trainer at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. At Wofford, he assisted with the Terriers’ football and men’s basketball programs.

Parsons has experience working with the National Football League, assisting with the Carolina Panthers during training camp for five seasons.

Parsons was an Academic All-American as a wide receiver at Garden City Community College in Kansas, before he transferred to Kansas State, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in 1999. He later earned his master’s degree in education from Converse College in South Carolina. During his time at Kansas State, Parsons served as a student athletic trainer for several of the Wildcats’ athletic programs.
