Personal: Played club volleyball for six years, including going to the Junior Olympics ... made the Honor Roll all four years at Saint Francis High School ... parents are Mike and Judy Soto ... has one brother ... undeclared major, but plans on becoming an accountant.

I chose Cal because: It is the best school and rowing program in the nation. Everyone here is welcoming and they make you feel at home. Also, it has both the city and ocean to go to all year long.
