Tarik Smith, Kato Serwanga Invited to Play in Blue-Gray Game

Cal tailback Tarik Smith indicated earlier this week that he has accepted an invitation to play in the Blue-Gray game scheduled on Christmas Day (beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific). The game will be televised live by ABC Television.

Smith would like to put on an impressive show for pro scouts as he is projected from anywhere from a second round draft choice to a free agent, depending on who is evaluating his prospects.

The 6-0, 185-pounder ran for 636 yards his senior season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry. He scored five touchdowns in his final three games for the Bears and averaged 83.5 yards in his last four games of the season.

Serwanga is also playing in the all-star game after finishing the season with 35 tackles. After making four interceptions as a junior, he had one as a senior.
