The current NCAA statistics show Cal very prominent in several categories.
Senior wide receiver Bobby Shaw ranks No. 1 in both receptions per game and
receiving yardage per game. Cal quarterback Justin Vedder is fourth in passing
efficiency and is fifth in total offense. The Cal defense, obviously improved
from a year ago, ranks No. 1 (tied with Michigan) in scoring defense at 3.0
points a game and is second in total defense, allowing 165.0 yards a game. The
Bears will be tested this Saturday by an Oklahoma team that ran 60 of its 66
offensive plays two weeks ago in the Sooners win over Syracuse. The game is
scheduled at 3:30 p.m. at Cal's Memorial Stadium and tickets can be purchased
by calling 510-64-BEARS or 1-800-GO-BEARS.
