A great natural athlete who played quarterback in high school, but is projected in the secondary as a collegian...also recruited by some schools as a wide receiver...a good enough athlete that he contribute on both sides of the ball as a collegian, if called upon..has fine speed with a 4.5 clocking in the 40...credited with over 5000 yards of total offense the last 2 seasons...threw for 1675 yards and ran for 400 more as a senior...accounted for 24 touchdowns in '97, passing for 18 and running for 6 more...was a member of the Tom Lemming Prep Report All-Far West team as the No. 71 overall prospect in the region...also was a member of the PrepStar Western Region team, ranking as the No. 3 prospect in the "athlete" category...earned first team Pacific League and West San Gabriel Valley honors as both a junior and senior...was an honorable mention CIF pick his senior year, while he earned first team CIF honors in '96...as a junior he threw for 2100 yards and 20 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions...father is a policeman in southern California...recruited by USC and Arizona State as a defensive back while Oklahoma wanted him as a quarterback in its option attack...an excellent prep sprinter...plans to major in communications at Cal.
