Mohammed Rushes For Career-High 120 Yards In Defeat
The Golden Bears, playing their first game under new Travers Family Head Football Coach Tosh Lupoi, fell behind 21-10 late in the second quarter but eventually knotted the contest at 24-24 with 3:50 to play in the third period. The Bruins scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to put the game away.
Running back Adam Mohammed had a productive evening in his first game at Cal, rushing for a career-high 120 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries while also catching seven passes for 46 yards. Fellow transfer Ian Strong had five catches for 94 yards and Chase Hendricks added six catches for 66 yards and a score.
Sophomore quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele went 24-for-41 for 271 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Safety Kingston Lopa registered his first career interception while defensive lineman Nate Burrell had his first sack since October 5, 2024, after missing last season due to injury.
The Bears play their first road game of the season next Saturday at Syracuse at 12:30 p.m. PT. The contest will air on the ACC Network.
