Bears to Compete at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup

Five Bears head to Thousand Oaks
With four Bears having already opened their season at the ITA All-American Championships, the rest of the California men's tennis team will begin its fall campaign at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Thousand Oaks, California. The tournament, which begins Friday, will be played in a hidden dual format, and the Bears will play athletes from more than 12 teams over the course of the event.
The Bears will send five student-athletes to the event. Sophomore Winston Lee is the only Bear returning after competing in the tournament last year. Lee finished the tournament with a 2-2 singles record and a 2-2 doubles record. Lee will look to build on a strong freshman season in which he finished 19-7 in singles and 11-5 in doubles.
Freshman Benjamin Berger and graduate student Melchoir Delloye will make their respective Cal debuts. Berger, a Laguna Beach native, was a five-star recruit and was ranked as high as No. 26 nationally in his recruiting class. Dellyoe comes to Berkeley after spending his last four years at Harvard, where he qualified for his first NCAA singles championship in 2025. Lee, Berger and Delloye will also be joined by returning sophomores Andrea Meduri and Leonardo Cattaneo.
