Bears Tie for Third at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

Freshman Giselle Zhao Ties for 6th in First Career Event
Lexington, KY – The California women's golf team opened its season with a tie for third in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky. The Bears concluded three rounds of play Tuesday at a combined 1-under-par.
That score tied Cal with Indiana for third. Kentucky (25-under) topped the leaderboard and Penn State (14-under) was second in the two-day event.
Individually, Cal freshman Giselle Zhao finished tied for sixth at 5-under for the three rounds; she carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday. Constance Fouillet (1-under for three rounds) and Michelle Woo (even) also finished in the top 16.
The Bears return to the course Thursday for the Big Match against Stanford at Menlo Country Club in the annual combined match-play event with the men's team.
