Bears Close Out Competition With A Strong Showing On Platform

By: Cal Athletics

BERKELEY – California diving wrapped up competition against NC State and Stanford on Saturday afternoon at Legends Aquatic Center. With the conclusion of the platform events, the men finished first among the three teams with 127 points, while the women placed third with 34 points.

Jasper Nemeth, Geoffrey Vavitsas and Justin Halford were the only Golden Bears to compete in the platform event on day two of the meet. Nemeth (329.70) and Vavitsas (328.00) finished second and third, respectively. Nemeth's score of 329.70 ranks fifth in Cal history, which is especially notable given that it was his first time competing in the event as a Bear.

California swimming and diving returns to action at home on Oct. 24 against Saint Mary's.
