EUGENE, Ore. – Four women from the California track & field throws unit competed at Oregon's Hayward Field on Thursday afternoon, writing another chapter in the history of the Golden Bears' vaunted program on day two of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The women's hammer competition featured a trio of Golden Bears for the first time in program history,

ACC Champion Giavonna Meeks posted a best mark of 66.87m (219-4) in the first flight, barely squeaking into the final after a cutthroat second flight left her in ninth place overall; she made the most of the opportunity, however, with a massive personal best of 68.94m (226-2) on her fifth throw that improved her own No. 4 program mark by over a meter and moved her up five spots into fifth place, where she would remain for the rest of the competition. It was a fine finish for the redshirt sophomore, who was named First-Team All-American for the second time this year (having also claimed recognition at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships) and the third time in her career (2024 Indoor).

Valentina Savva posted a mark of 66.84m (219-3), missing out on the final by just one inch but posting the best finish in the event by any Cal freshman in history to earn Second-Team All-America status for the first time in her career. Audrey Jacobs, competing in her second NCAA Championships, was named an All-America Honorable Mention with a best throw of 63.74m (209-1). Georgia's Stephanie Ratcliffe took the title with a collegiate-leading mark of 71.37m (234-2).

Lucija Leko ended Cal's day in the shot put with a mark of 16.25m (53-3.75), which earned her All-America Honorable Mention at her first NCAA Championships.
