BERKELEY, Calif. – The California softball team (27-11) bounced back on the second day of a back-to-back with a 12-0 run-rule victory against Pacific (12-23) on Wednesday at Levine-Fricke Field in Berkeley, California.
Tianna Bell recorded three hits on three at-bats, including a solo home run, with two RBIs, while
Lagi Quiroga went 2-for-3 on the day with two RBIs and a walk.
Acacia Anders launched a two-run home run for the 199th hit of her career.
The Golden Bears came out swinging with back-to-back home runs in the first inning from the bats of
Acacia Anders and
Tianna Bell, giving Cal an early 3-0 advantage.
The Bears continued to pour it on in the second inning after putting four runs on the scoreboard with only one hit in the frame. With the bases loaded, the Bears tacked on two runs after two batters were hit by a pitch, forcing runners to score. The only lone hit came from Bell, who knocked in a base hit to score another run.
Cal took a commanding lead in the fourth inning after scoring five runs in the frame, highlighted by
Lagi Quiroga's two-RBI double that extended the lead to 12-0 en route to the dominating win.
Ryann Orange secured her seventh victory after pitching a complete-game shutout with three strikeouts.
UP NEXT
Cal will return to Levine-Fricke Field on Friday to begin the three-game series against conference foe No. 9 Florida State.
