BERKELEY – The California softball team (21-4, 4-0 ACC) set its longest win streak since the 2013 season after a dominating win over Georgia Tech (16-10, 4-3 ACC), 10-2, at Levine-Fricke Field in Berkely, Calif.
The Golden Bears continue to accumulate wins, earning their eighth run-rule victory of the season and remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Bears took an early 1-0 lead after a pair of misuses in the first inning by the Yellow Jackets but quickly responded with back-to-back home runs in the top of the second to take a 2-1 advantage.
Cal remained unfazed and scored six runs in the bottom half of the second to regain the momentum.
Mika Lee continued her hitting streak to six games after recording a base hit in the first at-bat of the frame.
Acacia Anders gave Cal a commanding 7-2 lead with a three-run home run to right field, her second of the season.
After tacking on another run in the bottom of the fourth inning,
Tianna Bell followed with her seventh home run of the season to score two runs, giving Cal a 10-2 advantage heading into the fifth inning.
Anna Reimers capped off her impressive evening after retiring the side in order in the fifth inning as the Bears secured the victory. Reimers notched her fifth win of the season after pitching a complete game with a season-high six strikeouts, one shy from her career mark.
