Marshall Cherrington is in his eighth season at Cal and his first as the Assistant General Manager in 2026. Cherrington's responsibilities in his new role include overseeing the personnel and recruiting departments, managing the revenue share cap and NIL efforts of the program and helping lead the program's creative direction and social media presence. Cherrington previously served as the Golden Bears' Director Of Player Persoennel (2022-25), Director of Recruiting Strategy (2019 - January 2021) and as a recruiting assistant (2018).

Cherrington graduated from USC in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in public relations with a business minor and emphasis in sports media studies.

• Helped Cal sign a 2026 transfer portal class that ranked as high as No. 14 by 247Sports and a 2021 recruiting class that was ranked as high as No. 20 nationally according to ESPN 
• Produced content for Cal's recruiting social media platforms and also collaborated with Cal's Director of Recruiting to execute successful unofficial and official visits unique to each prospect.
• Has full-time professional experience at both USC as the Director of Recruiting Strategy (2021) and Washington as a player personnel analyst (spring 2019) after previously serving as a football operations intern at his alma mater USC (spring 2018) and a lead student manager in his final season as an undergrad in 2017
• Spent the summer of 2017 as a social media intern for the NFL
