• Racked up the honors as a sophomore when he was named first-team All-Division in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, NJCAA All-Region 13 and his team’s Defensive MVP when he recorded 53 tackles, 10.0 sacks and one forced fumble over seven games during a sophomore season that was highlighted by his performance in a win over Minnesota West Community and Technical College when he registered 14 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks to earn MCAC Western Division Defensive Player of the Week honors

• Played two seasons of prep football on the offensive line during his 2012 junior and 2013 senior campaigns for a pair of teams that combined for a 19-2 overall record and a 15-0 mark in Northwest Suburban Conference action to win a pair of league co-titles
• Senior team finished 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the Northwest Suburban Conference to win a share of the league crown and reached the first round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs before finishing the season ranked ninth in the state of Minnesota by MaxPreps
• Junior squad finished 9-1 overall and 8-0 in the Northwest Suburban Conference to win a share of the league title before finishing the season ranked 17th in the state of Minnesota by MaxPreps
