Kasra Sotudeh is in his first season with the Cal football program in 2012 as a learning specialist. He is responsible for assisting in the academic performance of Cal football players.
Sotudeh has spent the last eight years working at Maryland while pursuing a doctorate degree in education policy studies which he obtained in May of 2012. Sotudeh's most recent position in his final year of doctorate study at Maryland was as an academic writing and resource specialist for the athletic department. He worked previously as a graduate course developer and instructor for the university's education policy and leadership program from 2005-11. Sotudeh also has experience as an academic enrichment program mentor.
Sotudeh also received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Maryland in behavioral and social sciences and curriculum and instruction in 1994 and 2000, respectively. He then worked as an ESOL teacher and transition coordinator for the Montgomery County Public Schools for over five years before returning to Maryland to pursue his doctorate.
