Griffin enters his first season at Cal in 2025. He was named the running backs coach on January 28, 2025.

  • Griffin comes to Berkeley after five successful seasons at UTSA, where he helped the Roadrunners shatter several school records – including single-season marks for rushing yards, rushing yards per game, rushing average and rushing touchdowns. 

  • UTSA qualified for a bowl game in each of Griffin's five seasons.

  • Griffin was named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football 40 Under 40 list in June 2021.

  • Prior to his time in San Antonio, Griffin served as an offensive quality control coach at Arkansas and SMU.

  • With the Mustangs, he worked with current Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton and helped SMU rank in the top 20 nationally in both scoring offense and passing offense in 2017.

  • In 2016, Griffin was the wide receivers/special teams coordinator at Central Methodist (Mo.) before returning to the FBS level.

  • In 2015, Griffin returned to the ULM, his alma mater, as an offensive graduate assistant.

  • Griffin’s first coaching opportunity was a two year stint as the running backs coach at Texas A&M - Kingsville.

  • Griffin played wide receiver for the University of Louisiana - Monroe from 2008-12. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise fitness from ULM in 2012 and his master’s degree in education from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2015.
