Bradley Northnagel is in his first season as a graduate assistant for special teams and offense at Cal in 2017. Northnagel spent the past five seasons as a student-athlete in the Cal football program and played in 29 games at long snapper all off the bench. Northnagel did not make an errant snap while contributing three tackles all over his final three seasons with the program from 2014-16 after redshirting as a 2012 true freshman and not playing as a 2013 redshirt freshman. Northnagel became the team's full-time starter at long snapper at the beginning of his 2015 junior campaign and played in all 25 contests possible over his final two seasons making every snap at the position during the period. He previously worked with both the offensive and defensive lines as well as at fullback but did not see game action in those positions.

Northnagel is still actively pursuing a professional football career as a long snapper and had a tryout in August of 2017 with the New York Jets. He was one of two long snappers in the country that were invited to and participated in the 2017 NFL Combine. He also played in the 2017 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and participated at Cal’s 2017 Pro Day.
 
Northnagel earned honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic honors and was Cal's nominee for the Pac-12 Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year award as a 2016 senior both for the first time.

Northnagel graduated from Cal in December of 2016 with a bachelor's degree in social welfare

Northnagel prepped at Junipero Serra HS in San Mateo and was a first-team All-San Mateo County and honorable mention All-West Catholic Athletic League selection as well as his team's Most Improved Player as a 2011 senior on a Central Coast Section Division I championship squad that finished 11-2 overall. He played tight end, defensive end/outside linebacker and long snapper.
