The Cameron Institute for Student-Athlete Development aims to be a world-class model for developing student-athletes.  Using an original framework, The California Way, student-athletes are positioned to perform to their full potential at Cal and thrive for a lifetime. The Cameron Institute has three unique pillars: Career Development, Community Engagement, and Mental Performance. The service delivery modalities includes 1:1 Sessions, Classes-for-Credit, Team Sessions, Alum & Employee Engagement, and Online Platforms.

• Achieve student-athlete ultimate outcomes in The California Way: facilitate the identification of interests and completion of career tasks to be positioned for a “golden” post-graduate opportunity; cultivate the ability to make positive contributions to the community, equipped with the knowledge, skills, perspective, and commitment to do it again; elevate athletic performance and enhance overall sport well-being.

• Become the preferred destination for Student-Athlete Development and Sport & Performance Psychology: Attract, land, position, and retain an outstanding constituency of professionals, ensuring they are empowered to deliver the model and do their best work.

• Be the differentiator in recruiting efforts: Support coaches and teams in landing the highest potential student-athletes, recognizing Cal is a gold standard for growth and development. 

• Secure a 25 million endowment by 2029 (10th Cameron Institute anniversary): Lay the foundation for lasting sustainability, contributing towards a $45 million endowment goal to ensure the Cameron Institute’s enduring impact.
