A big play receiver who was overlooked by some since he played in a Wing T
offense at a small school...coaches really like his quickness and athletic
ability...earned SuperPrep All-Far West honors, ranking as the No. 88
prospect in the region...was a first team Sierra League selection as both a
junior and senior..had 11 catches for 362 yards and 3 TDs as a
senior...also ran for 184 yards and 4 TDs on just 23 carries in
'97...rushed for 400 yards and 7 TDs as a junior with 14 receptions for 400
yards and 5 more TDs the same season...an excellent student who comes to
Cal with a 4.03 GPA...father, Bossie, played running back at South Carolina
in the 70s, and is now a pastor...mother, Cynthia, is a teacher...chose Cal
after considering many schools, including Stanford, Yale, Iowa State, Army
and San Diego State...plans to major in mass communications at Cal with an
interest in becoming a sports journalist...an excellent track athlete who
clocked a 10.6 time in the 100 meters at the Junior Olympics in the summer
of '97...lists Michael Johnson as his favorite athlete...born Jan. 11, 1980
