As a SENIOR, she earned a Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention...was third on the team with 18 service aces...saw time in all 34 matches, starting almost every match and playing in all but one set...established a new career high with 250 digs, averaging 2.14 per set...also notched a personal high of 20 points.
2009
As a JUNIOR, Schmitt appeared in all 32 matches and 119 sets for the Bears... earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention... matched career high with 11 digs in a five-set upset victory at Washington, Nov. 7... had nine matches with at least one service ace... ranked fifth on the team in digs (1.39 dps).
2008
As a SOPHOMORE, Schmitt appeared in 32 matches (105 sets) for the Bears as a defensive specialist... registered career high marks in all statistical categories... posted 11 digs against UCLA Nov. 21... recorded a career-high three service aces at Arizona Nov. 7.
2007
As a FRESHMAN, Schmitt participated in seven matches, notching two assists, two service aces and five digs on the year... had a career-high four digs at Oregon State Oct. 5.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Schmitt was the 2006 Marin County Athletic League MVP as a senior at Redwood High School in Larkspur, Calif... selected 2007 Marin County Athletic all-league... helped her team to four-consecutive MCAL titles and the 2007 North Coast Section crown... her Golden Bear club team placed ninth in the 2006 Junior Olympics National Division, and qualified for the Open Division at the 2007 Junior Olympics... also ran distance in track, notching a time of 11:45 in the two mile and helping her team to four-straight titles.

Meagan Laura Schmitt was born in Kentfield, Calif.... parents Tom and Laura Schmitt both attended Cal and ran cross country and track for the Bears... has a brother, Jake, 23, who ran for the cross country team at Washington and at Cal, and a sister, Caitlin, 17, who attends UCLA... uncle John Starrett rowed for Cal... majoring in American studies with an emphasis on education in America; with a minor in education.
