Cal Sets Up For ACC Tipoff

Cal Players Lee Dort, Jordan Ross Selected To Attend Event In Charlotte
As California men's basketball enters its third season of competition in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Golden Bears are set up to participate in the 2026-27 ACC Tipoff event on October 6. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the ACC hosts Tipoff events for men's and women's basketball to highlight the upcoming seasons. This year, Cal will be represented by student-athletes Lee Dort and Jordan Ross in Charlotte, while head coach Mark Madsen will participate remotely.
ACC Network will be live for all sessions of ACC Tipoff (October 5-7) for expansive coverage from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET each day. The 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports will provide the event's most robust television coverage. Cal will participate in ACC Tipoff afternoon session on October 6, and the Bears' ACC Network time slot will be announced in the coming week.
A 6-10 forward, Lee Dort enters his third season at Cal following two at Vanderbilt. Dort started 26 of 27 games played last season as a Bear and ranked No. 61 in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (5.7) and he was top-100 nationally with his 7.8 rebounds per game. This past summer, he represented Haiti at the FIBA Americas Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers and averaged a double-double while standing out as the top rebounder at the event.
Jordan Ross, a 6-3 guard, is a newcomer to Cal. He joins the Bears this season from Georgia and began his collegiate career at nearby Saint Mary's, where he helped the Gaels in back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. He was a full-time starter as a sophomore at Saint Mary's and started 25 games with the Bulldogs. Ross averaged 6.7 points and 2.3 assists per game last season.
Cal head coach Mark Madsen is in his fourth season at the helm of the Golden Bears, who recorded the most wins in a season (22) since 2016 and their first postseason win since 2014 in last year's campaign. Last season's squad also notched eight games with 90-plus points scored and had five players ranked in top-100 national statistical categories. This year, Cal has nine returning Bears joined by nine newcomers ready for competition in 2026-27.
