SARATOGA – The California softball team fell to Louisville, 6-3, on Friday afternoon at Viking Field. The loss sets up a rubber match in the series on Saturday.

Louisville jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

The Bears responded in the second with back-to-back home runs to even the score at 2-2. Carly Raven and Anaya Togia launched their eighth and sixth homers of the season, respectively, to get Cal on the board.

The Cardinals regained the lead in the third and added three more runs in the fourth to stretch the advantage to 6-2.

Cal scored once in the bottom of the seventh to bring the final score to 6-3.

With the loss, the Bears fall to 13-26 overall and 3-11 in ACC play. Cal and Louisville return to action Saturday to decide the series.
