The California men's gymnastics team will host its last meet of the season at Haas Pavilion on Saturday, welcoming Oklahoma, Stanford and Air Force to Berkeley for the MPSF Championship at 4 p.m. PT. This will be the Golden Bears' fourth time meeting the Cardinal this year, as well as its third time facing the Sooners and its second time sharing the gym with the Falcons. A live stream from the meet will be available on Overnght, while live scores will be posted on Virtius. Admission for the MPSF Championship will be free.

Cal will start off the meet on floor, while Oklahoma will begin on vault, Stanford on parallel bars and Air Force on high bar.

Redshirt senior Jasper Smith-Gordon will be looking to defend his conference vault title, which snapped a 38-year program draught in the event; should he win again, he would be the first man in program history to repeat on vault. Senior Theodor Roald Gadderud has more All-MPSF honors than any gymnast in program history and won medals in the all-around (silver) and on parallel bars (bronze) at the 2025 MPSF Championship. Other All-MPSF Cal returners to Saturday's lineups include senior Khalen Curry, junior Jaxon Mitchell and sophomore Matteo Bardana.

The Bears finished their regular season at home on March 21 against Oklahoma, racking up their second-best score of the season (315.100) to the Sooners' 325.250. Cal earned an outright title on vault (56.300) and a share of the floor title (53.650), while Smith-Gordon earned another win on vault (14.250) and Bardana claimed the all-around victory (76.550).

ACROSS THE GYM - OKLAHOMA: USA Gymnastics Hall of Famer Mark Williams is in his 27th year at the helm of Oklahoma men's gymnastics and has led the Sooners to nine national titles and 10 runner-up finishes during his tenure. This year, Oklahoma is once again in prime position to make a championship run, boasting the nation's top overall score (331.600) by over a full point as well as the top four-score average (326.833). By four-score average, the Sooners lead the country on pommel horse (55.783) and rings (53.950) with senior Kelton Christiansen (14.083 four-score average, 14.400 high) topping the national high bar list and freshman Nathan Roman (14.200 four-score average, 14.650 high) leading the country on parallel bars. Oklahoma's star-studded roster also includes 2025 NCAA bronze medalists Fuzzy Benas (all-around) and Tas Hajdu (rings) as well as reigning MPSF Freshman of the Year Francisco Velez Belendez.

Oklahoma leads the all-time series 72-13.

ACROSS THE GYM - STANFORD: Twenty-fourth-year head coach Thom Glielmi leads the reigning NCAA runner-up squad, which has won five of the last six NCAA championship titles and is currently ranked No. 3 in the country with a four-score average of 321.583 and a season-high score of 326.450. As a team, the Cardinal lead the country on floor (54.650 four-score average, 55.550 high) and parallel bars (54.600 four-score average, 56.200 high). Although Stanford's biggest spotlights belong to U.S. National Team members Asher Hong and David Shamah, the rest of the team is just as dangerous, led by redshirt senior Nick Kuebler and his top-three ranks on floor and rings. Stanford also boasts a strong five-man freshman class led by U.S. Senior Development Team member Jun Iwai, a two-time MPSF Freshman of the Week and a Pan American gold medalist.

Cal last met Stanford at the Stanford Quad Meet on March 14, with the Cardinal outscoring the Bears 322.700-311.550. Stanford leads the all-time series 156-126-2.

ACROSS THE GYM - AIR FORCE: Head coach Josh Loeser is in his seventh season guiding the Falcons, who are currently ranked No. 13 in the nation with a four-score average of 307.300 and a season-high 310.100. Seniors Sam Brown and Jack Matlock boast the No. 10 and No. 13 national rankings, respectively, on pommel horse, while classmate Tai Gopaul ranks No. 15 on high bar and sophomore Jack Foltyn ended the regular season at No. 23 on parallel bars. A massive eight-man rookie class makes up over one-third of Air Force's roster, with Texas native Isaac Koo leading the way at seven appearances for the Falcons this season.

Cal last met Air Force at the Stanford Quad Meet on March 14, with the Bears outscoring the Falcons 311.550-308.100. Cal leads the all-time series 53-5.

NATION'S BEST
Redshirt senior Jasper Smith-Gordon and sophomore Matteo Bardana ended the regular season as the country's top-ranked gymnasts in their respective events, earning CGA Regular-Season All-America honors. Smith-Gordon, who is now a three-time All-American, posted a season-best 14.550 on vault at the Stanford Open and owns a four-score average of 14.300 on the event with three titles. Bardana posted new modern program records on floor (14.200) and high bar (13.550) this season, competing in the all-around in four consecutive weeks to close out the year with a high score of 78.050 and a four-score average of 77.250 and four titles of his own.

ON THE WORLD STAGE
Senior Theodor Roald Gadderud of Norway and sophomore Matteo Bardana of Canada each represented their respective nations on the international stage in the summer of 2025 and have continued to turn heads in 2026. Roald Gadderud, who was one of the youngest gymnasts ever to be recruited by the Norwegian National Team at age 11, competed at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships after runner-up finishes on floor, high bar and the all-around at the Norwegian National Championships. He has represented Norway thrice this year, first at the Cottbus World Cup in Germany and later at the Baku World Cup in Azerbaijan and the Antalya World Cup in Türkiye. Bardana helped Canada to its first medal in history (silver) at the FISU World University Games as a member of the Canadian Senior Next Gen National Team, earning the spot after winning the Canadian Senior Next Gen parallel bars title and bronze medals on floor and rings.

NEW YEAR, NEW ROLES
Cal's coaching staff is composed of three program alumni this season, each of whom has competed or coached at the highest level. New head coach Bryan Del Castillo, who spent the previous six years with the Bears as an assistant and was the interim head coach for the second half of the 2025 season, earned five All-America honors as a gymnast at Cal and is a former member of the U.S. National Team. Third-year assistant coach Karl Ziehn is a former U.S. National Team coach as well as a seven-year assistant at Stanford, helping the Cardinal to a national title in 2019. New to Cal's staff is Donothan Bailey, a former teammate of Del Castillo's who was a three-time All-American and is the last Golden Bear to win an MPSF title on pommel horse (2012, 2014), won a bronze medal with the U.S. National Team in 2011 and also coached the USA Gymnastics Resident Team in 2011-22. During their time at Cal, Del Castillo and Bailey were named finalists for the Nissen Emery Award, the top honor presented annually to a senior collegiate men's gymnast.
