Jared Goff Leads Lions To Victory Over NFC North Rival Green Bay
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers officially surpassed Peyton Manning for the third-most regular-season passing touchdowns in NFL history with his 540th touchdown pass this past weekend to highlight former California football players' performances around the NFL in Week 7. The historic milestone came during the NFL's first-ever regular-season game in Paris, where the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New Orleans Saints, 16-10. Rodgers completed 19-of-30 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown. He now trails only Drew Brees and Tom Brady on the all-time list.
Quarterback Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions secured a close 20-17 victory over NFC North rival Green Bay. Goff completed 22-of-32 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Lions to the victory.
It was another big week for former Golden Bear defensive backs with cornerback Nohl Williams posting a career-high 10 tackles, breaking up a pass and intercepting Sam Darnold in the endzone and returning the pick for 65 yards for Kansas City last Sunday. The Seattle Seahawks handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season with a 20-3 victory.
Tennessee cornerback Marcus Harris tied his season high with seven tackles, while Craig Woodson set a new season-high with eight. Harris and the Titans fell to the Cleveland Browns, 27-24 while Woodson and the New England Patriots lost on the road to the Chicago Bears, 30-24.
