The Freshman Standout Had The Best Showing Of Her Young Career
BERKELEY— Cal volleyball freshman setter Anna Flores has quickly emerged as one of the best distributors in the country, and recently received some recognition for her stellar play.
As announced in a release by the conference earlier this week, Flores was named ACC Co-Setter of the Week along with Pitt's Izzy Starck. This comes after she led the ACC in assists this past weekend, accumulating 91 during Cal's wins over both NC State and Wake Forest.
During Friday's victory against NC State, Flores posted a career high 52 assists, while also showing off her ability to make an impact on defense with 19 digs.
A freshman out of Keller, Texas, Flores is the daughter of former Cal football and baseball player, Ron Flores. She has quickly burst onto the scene for the Bears, racking up a conference high 787 assists, which ranks No. 6 in the country.
Cal will be hitting the road and heading to the Tar Heel state this week, as they'll be playing the No. 23 North Carolina Tar Heels (12-4) on Friday Oct. 22 and the Duke Blue Devils (13-5) on Sunday Oct. 25.
