TEXAS SOUTHERN-CAL POSTGAME NOTES (9.6.2025)
 
  • With today's 35-3 victory over Texas Southern, Cal has started the season 2-0 for the second straight year (started 3-0 last season).
  • Saturday's game marked the first time Cal's defense has held an opponent without a touchdown since a 26-3 victory against Colorado on Oct. 23, 2021.
  • The 194 yards allowed were also the fewest since giving up 104 in the same win over Colorado in 2021.
  • RB Kendrick Raphael rushed for a career-high 122 yards on 17 carries. He also recorded his fifth career rushing touchdown (first at Cal).
  • QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele threw for a career-high 267 yards on 27-of-38 passing.
  • Sagapolutele also registered his first career rushing touchdown on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
  • ILB Luke Ferrelli recorded a career-high 11 tackles in his second career game.
  • QB Devin Brown threw his fourth career touchdown pass (first at Cal) on a 14-yards pass to WR Jayden Dixon-Veal in the fourth quarter. It was Dixon-Veal's second career touchdown catch and first at Cal.
  • LJ Johnson's 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his first rushing score at Cal and 10th of his career.
  • ILB TJ Bush Jr tallied his first sack at Cal.
  • Raphael, WR Jacob De Jesus and WR QuaRon Adams each made his first career start at Cal on Saturday.
