Bears Fall To No. 13 Stanford In Season Finale

Moes Finishes Year With Most Goals By A Cal Player Since 2022

BERKELEY – The California lacrosse team saw its 2025 season come to an end Thursday afternoon with a 19-4 loss to No. 13 Stanford at California Memorial Stadium.

Senior Kennedy Mason scored a pair of goals in her final game as a Golden Bear and sophomore Emily Moes added her team-best 38th goal of the season. Junior Avery Hoeft also found the back of the net for Cal.

Moes scored the most goals in a season by a Cal player since Liz Scott netted 46 in 2022.

The Bears (6-10, 0-9 ACC) finished the year with their most wins since going 7-12 in 2019. It also marked Cal's inaugural season playing in the ACC, which features eight teams currently ranked in the Inside Lacrosse Top 25. The Bears played seven ranked opponents during the season.

Cal is expected to have a strong nucleus returning to its 2026 squad. Mason is the only senior among the Bears' top eight points-scorers.
