BERKELEY – The California women's tennis team dominated singles Saturday at the Cal Winter Invitational and split its doubles matches at the annual tournament.
 
In doubles Saturday morning at the Hellman Tennis Complex, the Cal pair of Mao Mushika and Katja Wiersholm defeated Cal Poly's Amy Leather and Sarah MacCallum 6-2, and Bears Sophie Hernandez and Tiziana-Marie Schomburg bested the Mustangs' Natalie Lynch and Jessica MacCallum 6-4.
 
Cal went 8-1 in singles at Hellman and the Channing Tennis Courts. Scores included Jessica Alsola's 6-3, 6-0 win over Cal Poly's Kennedy Buntrock, Hernandez's 6-1, 6-2 win over Sarah MacCallum, freshman Greta Greco Lucchina's 6-3, 6-2 result over Tiana Fox of Saint Mary's, and Schomburg's 6-4, 6-2 victory over the Gaels' Juliette Daries that wrapped up the day for the Bears.
 
The Cal Winter Invitational ends Sunday, with matches beginning at 10:30 a.m. PT.
